Like what is used on the newer Triumph Tigers, Honda AT or Aprilia Tuareg. The closest I could find was Kineo, but they are most likely not for offroad use.

Ultimately it is the motor that matters and it is the reason why I got my 43k mile 990 adv beater after previously shopping for 1190/1290 and ended up saving 5-6k.

I have a 2008 KTM 950 Super Enduro R and am wondering which is the best bike between the two for riding dirt roads. The 950 is about 50 lbs lighter and is easier to mount and dismount than the 1090. As for vibrations, yes it does have that Big twin vibration. I had a DL1000 and the DL was smoother but like the 1190 it did not like top gear below 50 mph. Gearing the KTM down one tooth helps and only changes the rpm by about 500 rpm. Not a big deal on a bike that will run 140 with out any problems.
I'd say it depends on what appeals to the buyer. 1190 has a bit more power and has more electronics. The 1090 is slightly simpler. The 1090 may have an improved airbox and possibly better rear shock. The 1190 is a known platform and not a first year run. #5. Zugg Zugg and KTM 1190advR like this.
